Base camp Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Northeast Hadin Kai of the nigerian army has set up a board to research the supposed complicity of its soldiers blamed for killing an Islamic minister in Yobe state, Goni Gashua.


In a proclamation Sunday from one of its representatives, Kennedy Anyanwu, a captain, the military likewise said an examination is in progress to disentangle the personalities of the soldiers connected to the murder of Mr Gashua.

Mr. Gashua was killed on Friday night close to Jaji Maji in Karasuwa Local Government Area in Yobe State.


Yobe police public relations officer Dungus Abdulkareem, who confirmed the incident, said "the details of the occurrence will be delivered to the masses in a couple of days."

Affirming the occurrence, the army depicted it as exceptionally deplorable "given the Sectors' readiness and no tolerance to bear infringement of the Troop Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement."


In its articulation on Sunday, the army said: "The area, in a joint effort with the Yobe State Police Command, is directing an examination to unmask the suspected soldiers.


"What's more, the Sector has initiated a Board of Inquiry to uncover the conditions related to  the sad incident. Toward the end of the examination, the soldiers will face the full wrath of military and civil laws."
